Overview & functionality
The Project Manager is a module of the InfoStream software.
This module is only available with the Business and Enterprise editions .
The Project Manager is a so called PostScript Merge software.
Single PostScript print files can be brought together to a new PS file.
These files are then put down in a project.
The use of the Project Manager is useful when different people are working a single chapter or document. This can be manuals, technical documentations, operating manuals or other documents.
Example:
Ten employees of different departments work together on new documentation for a manual. Each employee works on one chapter. With the Project Manager a new project "Manual“ is created.
Each employee can after finishing his chapter send his document to the project "Manual“ with the JobTicket. With the Project Manager the sequence of the single chapters can be set. At the end the 10 documents are put together to a new file and can be printed as the whole document.
The Project Manager is ideal if you already have a lot of PostScript files and require them to be printed. The single PostScript files are newly sorted and arranged. Then the new PostScript file is sent to the PrintManager.
Hint:
In general the combining of single PostScript files is said to be difficult.
The success depends decisively on the printer driver used, the user program and the operating system.
